There were no immediate reports of injuries from an Iranian missile attack on Israel on Tuesday, Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said televised remarks.

The attack was serious and will bear consequences, he said, adding that there were no indications of further imminent threats from Iran - a possible sign that Tehran may have finished its latest volley.

The missile attack on Israel on Tuesday was a response to assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah, Iran's IRGC says in a statement.

"It should be noted that this operation was carried out with the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, the directive of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and the support and backing of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and the Ministry of Defense.

"(We warn) that if the Zionist Regime responds militarily to this operation, which is in accordance with the country's legal rights and international law, it will face further crushing and destructive attacks."

Video obtained by Iran International shows missiles being fired by the Islamic Republic in the skies over the northwestern city of Tabriz toward Israel.

Social media users filmed what appeared to be missile launches from Shiraz in central Iran.

Iranian missiles were fired into Israel and were intercepted in mid-air, according to live streams carried by news broadcasters.
